Feedback
We have not received any accessibility-related feedback since we published our plan.
Consultation
We meet with people with disabilities individually, at their request or following a work event. Following the meetings, an action plan is put in place to adjust to the employee’s reality.
Our Employment Equity Committee, which meets quarterly, is designated to address accessibility issues. Members discuss reported or newly identified barriers and seek to remove them or prevent future barriers.
Areas Targeted by Section 5 of the Accessible Canada Act (ACA)
Employment
Obstacle : Difficulty adjusting to night driving schedules
Update: Where possible, we adjust departure times to respect drivers’ biological clocks. In progress and in perpetual adjustment.
Barrier: Language difficulty (communicating in English or French for drivers)
Update: We favor written communication to allow the use of translation tools. In progress.
Barrier : Work/family balance
Update: As much as possible, we organize schedules to promote work/family balance (end of the shift on Friday morning and resumption on Sunday evening). In progress.
Barrier : Changing technologies in the field
Update: We offer continuing education in “one-to-one” mode, more adapted and without pressure. In progress and in perpetual adjustment.
Built Environment
Obstacle : Our fire alarms do not have a visual warning for the hearing impaired
Update: After evaluation, this measure has not been taken since there are unfortunately no job opportunities for people with hearing impairments within the company.
Information and Communication Technologies
Obstacle : Some functions of our communication system in the trucks are in English
Update: We are in communication with our provider to make all features available in French.
Communication, other than information and communication technology
Barrier: Internal memos are written in French only
Update: We have started to produce them in English as well. This report is an example of that.
Procurement of Goods, Services, and Facilities
Obstacle: No procedure for the evacuation of people with disabilities
Update: A policy/procedure will be developed by our OHS Manager
Design and Delivery of Programs and Services
Barrier: Accessibility is not always considered when implementing new procedures
Update: We now consider accessibility when implementing new procedures or when publishing internal memos.
Transportation
Barrier: Some of our office workers do not have a vehicle to get to work (traveling either by bus and/or taxi), which makes it more difficult for them to be in the office during inclement weather.
Update: We encourage teleworking when the weather makes it more difficult to travel by bus or bicycle, for example.
Other progress
Barrier: Publication of the plan in English
Update: We have translated our accessibility plan to make it available in both official languages.
Conclusion
We will continue to identify and remove barriers in collaboration with our Employment Equity Committee. This committee is responsible for identifying barriers, monitoring progress, and providing concrete feedback.
Our Director of Human Resources remains the primary point of contact for feedback on our accessibility plan. Feedback will be addressed in a timely manner, and temporary measures will be put in place as needed.
In accordance with the ACA’s timeline, we will publish an update to our accessibility plan no later than June 1, 2026 and we will publish another progress report no later than June 1, 2027.
